Papa Earl began making and selling his bait in the 1970s, earning a loyal following among anglers on Lake Conroe, Lake Somerville, and Lake Houston. We fished with it as kids off the banks of Lake Conroe in the 90s! Decades later, when we had the opportunity to preserve his original formula and introduce Papa Earl’s to a new generation, we couldn’t pass it up. Today, we’re proud to carry on his legacy and help families hook new memories and create their own fishing stories, one catch at a time. And yes, he STILL holds a state record on the Trinity river for grass Carp.
